Ger Doornink is primarily focused on photography and painting. He originally studied design and photography but moved on to painting in his later career. He was influenced by Japanese art styles whilst living in Japan. Doornink depicts women's faces in every single one of his pieces. His paintings have a strong presence with dark contour lines and bold gazes.
I was drawn to Doornink's works because of their feminist nature and his unique style. I really enjoy the textured surface of his paintings and the harsh contours he uses, I will incorporate his unique line in future works of my own. I also find his blending of styles intriguing because it is very unique and creates a sense of individuality in his paintings.
